[03]Price and get paid
How to price for a buyer on another continent
Updated Oct 6, 2026
Start from what the piece costs you, price it in your own currency, and let the buyer see everything else in the open.
Start from your cost
Materials, the hours it takes you, packaging, and a fair margin for your skill. Pay yourself for your time: a price that only covers materials is a price you cannot keep. Your price is the same for a buyer next door and a buyer across an ocean.
Price in your own currency
You set your price in the money you live in. Buyers see it converted to theirs at the day's rate, and you are paid out in yours. There is nothing to guess about exchange rates.
Let shipping and duties be their own lines
Shipping is added at checkout for the buyer's address, and you keep it in full. Duties and taxes belong to the buyer's country, and 1VIM shows them before the buyer pays. Do not fold them into your price: shown in the open, they make your piece look as fair as it is.
What 1VIM charges
Nothing to the shop. The buyer pays the card's processing cost and a payment gateway fee of two percent, shown as its own line at checkout. You keep the item price and the shipping in full.
Do not race to the bottom
Buyers who come to 1VIM are looking for something real from a real place. The story, the place and the skill are part of the price. Fewer pieces at an honest price beat many pieces at a price that wears you out.
